Originally known as Joe’s Florida Keys Lobster House, owned by Joe Rabito, for 20 years, it was sold to the current owners in February 1998, who now do business as Annette’s Lobster & Steak House. The business is named after one of the owners, Annette, who was born in Virginia and moved to The Florida Keys in 1981. She worked at Kelsey’s Fine Dining at Faro Blanco Resort in its hay days, starting as a waitress while baking all of their special desserts at home. She was an exceptional waitress, everyone asked for, but due to her popularity only the special customers were able to obtain her. Eventually, she became the food and beverage manager when the resort was sold to a large corporation. Unfortunately, the cooperate management was based only on bottom line profit, causing the quality to change and the rest is history.

In January 1998 Annette was discouraged with her job and looked to her best friend and husband Nick Aldacosta for advice. After discussing several options Nick contacted one of his friends John Ely and that is how Annette’s, as we now know it, was founded.

Annette’s, which was opened on February 18, 1998 by three close Friends, is still in operation by them to this day. As partners they all agreed on our current policy to give our customers, good food & good service at a fair price. We serve only the best quality and freshest products available. We pride ourselves in never comprising on quality, our beef , Certified Angus, is the best money can buy, the seafood is fresh and of the best quality and to top it off Annette still makes all of her famous desserts. The staff is attentive, friendly & knowledgeable, bringing many years of food service to the table. We love what we do and know that you will love our place too.
